Marry or not 2

"Ah... I am so tired..." Ryan literally slumped against a tree, sitting leaning against the trunk. I found myself a comfortable seat and sat down next to him with little Dylan in my arms, sleeping.

"Right..." I yawned.

"Want me to take you back home now?" he asked.

"After you explain to me about everything," I chuckled. That's the main reason why he is here, isn't it?

"Right, I think I should really explain to you," he said. "Well, its just that my parents are forcing me into an arranged wedding with Amanda from our school."

"Yeah, so why? Is she not beautiful?" I asked.

"No, she is beautiful. But I can't accept her," he struggled.

"Why can't you? I thought guys like beautiful ladies, unlike me," I said coolly.

"Says who that you're not beautiful. Haven't you seen the guys in our school oogling at you? They had already had a nickname for you," he said, resting his head against the trunk.

His neck looks tasty.

Should I try to take a small bite?

"They call you the Ice Princess," he continued.

Thanks god that he said something to distract me away from his edible-looking neck.

"Really, then I should have really look beautiful to them," I chuckled.

"And scary too! Ice Princess are meant to look cold, unapproachable, unfriendly and yet strikingly beautiful," he said, his face is close to mine again.

"Really? Well, I heard that there also this nickname going around the school about you crowed by them as the Ice Prince," I laughed.

"Ice Prince? We should have looked like a couple to them," he grinned.

I blushed immediately. This is the first time I am talking to someone unrelated to me for so long and also a talk about gossips.

Is school life always this fun?

Is this what that is lacked in my life?

Why haven't I noticed it earlier? Why haven't I made some friends even sooner?

I am so stupid.

"What're you talking about? This is only the first day of school!" I shot back.

"Yep, and this is the first day we met and yet you are blushing so hard already. Hang on, the part where we kissed twice today is even harder to believe. You know, I haven't kissed someone before you," he grinned.

"What?!"

Are you seriously kidding  me?

And here I thought he is some playboy!

"What what? Is it that hard to believe?" he whined. "Do I look like some playboy to you?"

"Absolutely," I smirked.

"You're blushing," he said, poking my cheeks.

"I'm not. And you can't possibly see if it is red in the dark," I argued.

"Well, I can feel it. Can't you feel the sparks on electricity running down your spine each time I touched you?" he asked, looking at me.

Those sapphire eyes.

Don't look at me with those sapphire eyes. They will let all my secrets out.

"Alright, I shall not bug you on it and continue with my story. Now, no more interruption okay?" he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Aye aye, captain!" I answered it to the tune of Spongebob Squarepants.

He chuckled a little.

"Where did I stop? Oh right. And I don't wanna get engaged to her. I don't like her. I don't want her to be tied down with someone like me. She doesn't deserve me. So, I argued with my parents and-"

"Stop!"

"What? Didn't I said no interruption?"

"No, I just want to make clear something. So, you are just trying to be the saint here?"

"Something like that."

"And where do I come in?"

"I am just about to get to that part," he said. "No more interruption this time. Erm... See! Its your fault for making me not know where I stopped at! Oh, I remembered it now."

He cleared his throat and continued his story.

"So, I argued with my parents and they said that if I could find myself a girl that I like and who likes me back, they will gladly refuse this proposal with Amanda's parents and let me marry the girl I love. But the time they gave me to find my partner is only a month, starting from the last last last week. So, theoretically speaking, I only have four more days to Friday, the dateline. And I became anxious-"

"And you came looking for me," I cut in.

"Yup, I came looking for you because you are one of those minorities wearing the grey uniform. And I thought that you might be willing to marry me for money. Turns out that you aren't that type of person. So, I got slapped..."

"I know the rest of the story." I placed a hand in front of his mouth.

"Right!" he smiled.

"And your point here is?"

He gave me a smile.

"I was just wondering if you could help me out, as a friend. Like just marry me to trick my parents into believing that we really love each other so that I can be saved from the arranged marriage," he said. "I promised I will divorce with you in a month afterwards. If you want something to prove this, I could ask my family's lawyer to type out a document stating that you are allowed to leave the household after a month," he put his hands up in surrender.

"And what is the deal?" I asked.

"Deal?"

"Yeah, deal. You know, you can't just ask me to help you do something that is really wrong right?" I asked.

"Oh right. What about you and your brother coming to live in my house for the entire month? I know that your sister and her husband is going to be out of town until the next month. Your brother's school fees and all your meals and everything will be prepared for you. You don't have to work part time after school for a month and afterwards, I will ask my manager to help you arrange another part time job in my company," he said.

"Great deal!" I said without hesitation.

Who would turn down such a great deal?

"Really?" he asked.

"Of course. And it is just going to be a month," I smirked.

"Well, thank you, my wife," he said, kissing me on my hand.

"Shall we get going now?" he asked, carrying Dylan off me and standing out, heading to where his car is.

This is going to be a great month!
